Introductory Lecture

In this lecture we covered 3D printing, laser cutting, augmented reality and motion graphics. All these techniques were very interesting.

Augmented Reality

I was practically interested in argument reality, it fascinated me and I want to get some sort of grasp off how the technology worked.

I looked a few websites and videos which helped me understand where this technology could head in the future. which proved to be very exciting in many different aspects of everyday life and in video game advancement.

3D Printing

3D printing also caught my eye; I was amazed by the almost endless possibilities not just now but in the future. The idea that it was similar to a Sci-Fi replicator, which people have only dreamed off is surely enough of a reason to pay attention to the advances in this product.

I looked at this website and it talk about printing out food, which just seemed unbelievable. They can currently print out cheese, chocolate, cake icing. In 10 years’ time they should be printing me out a roast dinner.

Motion Graphics

We looked at 3 different programs within motion graphics, after effects, Isadora and Arduino. I really liked the interactive feature of Isadora and could really see my illustrations fitting in well with this style.

After affects has always interested me though being an illustrator have never got round to having a go, I looked at a few things online and really admire some the effects this one particularly.

I would like to be able to create some thing like this but i dont think my style suits, so ill leave it to the graphic designers.

Laser Cut

We look at laser cutting and you can do some really detailed interacted stuff. There’s also some more complex work, a lot of architects and engineer’s use laser cutting for their modelling. Here’s something really impressed me.
